Our
mission statement
Our
mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that
will foster academic excellence. We will accomplish this
through cooperation among staff, students, parents and
community.
We Believe
-
Every
child deserves to learn in a safe, happy, and
caring environment.
-
Honesty,
self-discipline, and good citizenship are taught
best by encouragement and example.
-
A
child who is treated with respect learns to
respect others.
-
Children
will thrive in an atmosphere that promotes love of
learning.
-
Families,
teachers, and staff share the responsibility of
developing the whole child, intellectually,
morally, and emotionally.
-
Learning
is a life-long process.
-
All
children need to be recognized for their
accomplishments.
-
Every
child is capable of learning.
History
Clara S. Bacon
Elementary School was built in 1966 and opened in
October of that year.
The school is
named after a district assistant superintendent.
The
architect's original concept featured a keyhole
design, with the classrooms surrounding a circular
amphitheater and a gymnasium off to one side.
In 1979 an addition was added to the gym and a primary
wing was added.
