Greater Amsterdam School District

The Marie Curie Institute of Engineering and Communications was established as a specialized magnet school in 2007. A new dress code will be a feature of this school that will further enhance the program and its specialized curriculum.

CLOTHING ITEM	ALLOWED	NOT ALLOWED
Shirts / Blouses	Solid white, red. black or tan. Collared, short or long sleeved, polo or button down style. MUST be appropriately sized. Shirts will be worn TUCKED into pants / skirts. If an undershirt is worn under the outer shirt, undershirt must be SOLID WHITE. WINTER-Turtlenecks will be permitted in allowable colors.	NO logos other then MCI school logo.
Pants	Solid white, red. black, or tan. Pleated or flat front, belt loops or elastic waist MUST be appropriately sized.	NO cargo style pants. NO denim (blue jeans) may be worn.
Shorts	Knee length and appropriately sized. Shorts with belt loops or elastic waist may be worn.	NO baggy shorts or athletic shorts may be worn. NO cargo style or denim shorts may be worn
Skirts/Skorts/Jumpers	No shorter than knee length. Slits will be allowed only on ankle length skirts / jumpers - slits may be no higher than the knee,	NO denim / blue jean fabric. NO wraps around skirts are acceptable.
Sweaters/ Vests/Sweatshirts	Vests may be worn with appropriate shirt / blouse. Shirt / blouse collars must be worn out when wearing a sweatshirt or vest.	NO logos are permitted
Lightweight / Heavy Jackets / Overcoats	Appropriately sized. Jackets will be stored. Color at the parent's discretion.	May NOT be worn in the building once the morning bell has rung and students have entered classroom. Sweatshirts with hoods are jackets and may not be worn in the building.
	Note: consideration will be given for variation to the dress code for religious reasons
