Rinehimer Scholarship to be awarded
Beginning May 2007, the G. Jason Rinehimer Scholarship Fund
will present a yearly $1000 scholarship to an Amsterdam High
School graduating student in honor of G. Jason Rinehimer, AHS
'87. Jason's daughter Alexandra will personally present the
award to this year's recipient.
Jason attended Amsterdam High School,
Fulton-Montgomery Community College and Union College. During
high school he worked at Amsterdam landmark "Capie's". He was
later employed by the Marriot Hotel, Kinowski Insurance Agency
and Jullians in Albany, NY.
Jason's mother Cindy Kinowski Rinehimer
describes him saying, "Life is about the way we live. The
answer to life is how we love. Jason always lived and loved.
He loved God, nature, music and people. He gave his heart and
his soul to everything he did. He was blessed with amazing
good looks, physical strength, exceptional academic aptitude
and a divine spirit of love. Anyone who knew him would attest
to this.
"Love is being patient, kind, truthful,
unselfish, hopeful and enduring. It is not being jealous,
boastful, arrogant, rude, selfish or angry. True love never
fails (The Bible).
"Jason was a star for the Amsterdam Rams.
His light will always shine."
The scholarship fund is already
established, but welcomes additional contributions.
Donations may be submitted to Bank of America, Amsterdam
Branch, Amsterdam, New York – Bank Account number 7480.
