MATHEMATICS B2

 

Math B is required to receive  an Advanced Regents Diploma in High School.

Math B focuses on a range of topics to prepare the students for precalculus and calculus. Students will learn diffrent theorems, direct and indirect proofs, graph polynomials, trigonometric functions, complex numbers, and vectors.  They will review review factorization, systems of equations, systems of inequalities, radicals, and exponential functions, and logarithms.  Students are expected to relate functions to real world.  The use of a graphing calculator is encouraged for clearer perceptions of functions.  At the end of their studies, they will take the New York State Math B Regents.

 

There will be homework, quizzes, and tests throughout this course.  The students are expected to maintain a notebook.  Supplementary materials will be provided.  At the end of the year, the students will take a Final Exam.

Note:  Students are required to bring their textbooks, notebooks, and writing utensils in working conditions.

The weighting for the course is as follows:
