Word Wall

     High Frequency words are words that occur most often in written and spoken language. It is extremely important that the children learn these words so they can read them automatically, on sight. Our word wall is an alphabetical list of all of the high frequency words that we learn in First Grade. It includes all of our first names as well. In September, the word wall will contain all of the Kindergarten words, which are reviewed in the first unit of First Grade. Words will be added at the beginning of each week, and by the end of the unit, the children should be able to read these words on sight, with no hesitation.
