William B. Tecler Arts in Education Magnet School

Student Dress Policy Amendment

The William B. Tecler Arts in Education Magnet School was established as a specialized magnet school in 2008. A new dress policy will be a feature of this school to further enhance its programs and specialized curriculum.

  • Students will be required to follow the standardized dress code outlined below

  • Policies developed in previous versions of the District Policy for Student Dress will continue to be enforced

  • The Superintendent or his/her designees shall make the final decisions about the suitability of student clothing

Shirts/Blouses

  • Solid colors only - white, blue, red, black or tan

  • Must have collars (polo or button down, short sleeves OK)

  • Must be appropriately sized and tucked into pants/skirt

  • Undershirts must be solid white

  • Turtlenecks are permitted during winter; must be solid color

  • NO logos other than Tecler logo permitted

Pants

  • Solid white, blue, red, black or tan.

  • Pleated or flat front

  • Must be appropriately sized

  • NO cargo pants

  • NO denim/blue jeans

Shorts

  • Solid white, blue, red, black or tan

  • Knee length and appropriately sized

  • Shorts with belt loops or elastic waist may be worn.

  • NO baggy shorts or athletic shorts

  • NO cargo or denim shorts

Skirts

  • Solid white, blue, red, black or tan

  • No shorter than knee length

  • Slits allowed on ankle length skirts/jumpers only

    Slits may be no higher than the knee

  • NO denim/blue jeans

  • NO wraps around skirts allowed

Sweaters/Sweatshirts/Vests

  • Solid colors only

  • Vests must be worn with appropriate shirt/blouse

  • Shirt/blouse collars may be worn out when wearing a sweater, sweatshirt or vest

  • NO logos permitted

  • NO denim

Jackets/Overcoats

  • Appropriately sized

  • Color parents' discretion

  • Must be removed once the morning bell has rung

 

NOTE: The dress policy is not meant to interfere with religious beliefs. Should this become an issue for your child, please speak with the teacher or school principal.

NOTE: All other dress code guidelines in the GASD Student Code of Conduct will apply.
