Students
are identified as eligible for extra help in math via the
following:
1. Final Average - If a student has a final
yearly average of 65%obtained from the math chapter
tests then he/she qualifies for services.
2. Terra Nova - A student in the
second grade who scores in the 23rd percentile qualifies for
extra math support.
3. Math Assessment Scores - A student scoring a
Level 1 on the test automatically qualifies for AIS math.
A student scoring a Level 2 is observed or "monitored" to
determine if services are required.
4. Kindergarten Screening - Students needing
extra services in kindergarten are determined by screening
results and/or early learning readiness tests.
5. Teacher Recommendation - If a
student fails three consecutive tests, a teacher may
recommend him for AIS services.
